im currently using notes app on my phone but having problems searching for particular trades. Is it better flipping pages of physical notebook? WHo has tried both digital and physical forms? Which do you prefer? Thanks in advance.
I used to use a physical journal to enter my trades, but that wasn’t working for me. Now, I currently use an app called “Evernote” where I’m able to to organize my notes wayyy better, add videos, screenshots, etc. They have it for desktop and mobile. You should try it out. I also made an excel sheet for me to track my win/loss % each week/month

Ooh I use evernote for recipes but that’s true why didn’t I think it could be used for trade journals! So you keep both a spreadsheet and evernote notes?
I have an actual notebook. That works for me because in general I like handwriting things. Really though I think the answer is whichever method will make it sustainable for you to journal your trades. Even if we recommend apps here, if you don’t like using digital notetaking products, then there is no point lol

I use a spreadsheet , with notes columns, the sheet also auto calcs risk levels and my P&L

@Blackduck mentioned https://www.notion.so It looks very promising but I just haven’t had the time to explore it as yet. I plan on recreating my journal on Notion when I get the chance.
Somebody here uses Trello. Can’t remember who. There’s a journal section here too with a basic text editor, tables, ability to upload images.
I’m sure you could do a search and find somebody’s excel template.
Are you able to share a screenshot perhaps of the columns? Would like to see if the spreadsheet route is something I can do.

If you want to take things the right way then an excel sheet is the bst option because the best thing with excel is that once you have the right formulas you will just be able to see the results. you sjtu have to give the input and you are all set. If you are not used to it then you should learn. We all need to move with technology and it has been there for ages now.
This is the modern age and because of that people are supposed to learn new things and focus on the new technology. Instead of having to restrict yourself to writing a book all the time you can have an excel sheet that you can use pretty much anywhere and is easy to carry.
Google sheets so that you don’t have to constantly press ctrl + s.

I don’t think people prefer the physical notebook but if it’s working for you, it is completely okay.
but also chrome makes my computer slow. what browser you use?
