Time change?

does Europe or any where else beside US do the whole time change. I was trading the London market but i don’t know if the times have changed. Since i am EST does that mean london market starts earlier now?

pippy123,

The UK and Europe reverted to standard time on the night of Oct 27-28. In our (North America’s) feeble attempt to conserve energy, we stayed on daylight savings time for an additional week and reverted to standard time on the night of Nov 3-4.

The UK was on GMT +1 until Oct 27, now they are on
GMT +0. Eastern Daylight Savings was GMT -4 until Nov 3, Now you are on
GMT -5.

Hope this helps

I always thought it was pointless to have daylight savings time and standard time. Daylight savings time last over eight months so why not just make it standard time??

Anyhoo, the US and EU have different daylight savings time.

Beginning in 2007, most of the United States begins Daylight Saving Time at 2:00 a.m. on the second Sunday in March and reverts to standard time on the first Sunday in November. In the U.S., each time zone switches at a different time.

For 2008, DST begins March 11 and ends November 4.

In the European Union, Summer Time begins and ends at 1:00 a.m. Universal Time (Greenwich Mean Time). It begins the last Sunday in March and ends the last Sunday in October. In the EU, all time zones change at the same moment.

For 2008, Summertime period begins March 26 and ends October 26.
