Totally Clueless

I am new to forex and had read the school of pipsology. As I had been doing some research on what is the best site for me to have a demo account, I came across this site and had read the services offered. I don’t understand the services offered and I am totally at a loss. Can somebody please explain this for me?

Thank you in advance for your time.

Open a demo account with an MT4 broker like Alpari and trade the Cowabunga system. Alpari are good because there is no time limit on the demo and they won’t pester you with phone calls pressuring you into opening a live account.

Take it from there

In addition to Alpari, I use IBFX free demo. That one doesn’t expire either.

I thought ibfx expires after 30 days? i know fxopen demo doesn’t expire though.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I greatly appreciate it. But what I am clueless for is the services offered. What is it for me as a trader?

Hi Garcia,

The site you are referring offers forex signals. In layman’s term, forex signal simply means you are given tips on what to buy or sell for you to have profits.

Hope this helps.

A signal service is a way of not taking responsibility for your trading. You pay someone money for their advice. better to spend time learning and saving your money until you are ready. You will probably lose that money trading but will be buying useful education

Basically, forex signals are tips for you, the signals that are sent to you are what the site’s professional traders think that you can make profit on. The site will not send random signals but only signals where the traders expects to have profits on the currencies.

They also offers auto trading, so when the signal is sent, their system will automatically execute the trade for you. no need to login and execute it yourself. Best for beginners and traders who doesn’t have much time online.

Forex signals are also useful as a way to see how your analysis compares with that of the experts as often they give a brief explanation as to why they are giving that buy or sell signal.

All right, thank you all for the explanations, so that means, if i will subscribe to their service, I won’t lose any trades?

ABSOLUTLEY NOT There are no gaurantees when trading forex and anyone who claims they never suffer a losing trade is either a liar or thief

You may or you may not. remember, the professional traders are only humans and can make mistake sometimes. Forex is based on speculations and other unseen factors. It all boils down to your own decision. Take their signal, compare it to your own notes and take action if necessary.

I had tried their service and so far I am satisfied. But what is best is that if you lose on your first month, you will be given another month for free.

Thank you all for your worthy advises even for those who I didn’t quoted here.

These are worthy notes for me as I want to know all the pros and cons of forex trading. I know I just can’t plunge it and invest at once as I have to learn all. I am trading in a demo account and just enjoying the trade while taking down notes at the sides. This signal service may be a good opportunity for me when I decide to have a live account as SDC and smartcash have said, I can compare the signals on my own notes and decide for myself if its good or not.

I think it pays to have a second opinion (signals) on these matters before I decide to trade on a pair.

Just a word of caution. Is your trading system the same as that of the signal service ? It is highly possible that your entries will not agree if you trade differently. That does not mean that either is wrong. For example, you may like trading a 1 hour chart, the signal provider may trade a daily. What pairs do you prefer to trade and what does the provider favour? there are many variables

Thanks for pointing that period difference. I had missed that point. All are noted.

If you’re new to this, and this signal service charges a fee, stay out of it until you are sure you want to do this and are already somewhat knowledgeable about manually trading. (Put the money you’d spend on this trying to find the “easy way” to trade) and insted, hire a professional coach for a day each week for say 3 months. What you will learn from your coach transcends ANTHING a signal servie, automated EA or anything else you might get hooked into buying. Good mechanics buy good tools (Its how thay make their living) Trading is much the same, good tools (education, strategies, coaching etc) will do far more for you in helping you become a successful trader than much of anything else you could invest in. Boil it down, invest in yourself.

Good point on the coach stuff. But since you pointed out that having a coach is like having a signal service provider plus these other coach services, I may still opt for a good signal service provider. They have somewhat a guarantee on their service unlike hiring a coach wherein yes I may learn other aspect of the trade but it all depends on the knowledge of your coach. Also, I think signal service providers have a team of professional traders to monitor the trade pairs and send signal whenever they see a possible profit. Its like having a team against one.

I have nothing against having a coach, its only my opinion.

There’s no gain without some risks, so be ready to take some risks no matter what others tell you.

Thanks Matt! I know the risks involved. Just being in forex trade is a risk in itself. The thing is we are involved because we love taking the risks. Those who doesn’t are not into forex trading.

Way to go mate. Keep learning as I think you have a good grasps of the basic idea on trading. One word of advice though, keep your targets modest and attainable.

Good luck!
