Trading during summer months

A lot of people say the summer months are the worst time to trade. Do you still trade during the summer months, especially August, or just stay away?

I’m still trading… not encountering any issues so far. What was the reaason for not trading during summer? Is it because of low vol?

Bankers go on holiday during June July and August, don’t they? Still trading.

Interesting graph, bottom right column

So far this year, May has been the toughest challenge for me. The FX market pairs were moving all over the place, which only settled down this month. I was fortunate to sneak in a breakeven profit with a 44% win rate.

As for summer months I doubt pro traders taking holidays would materially affect a trillion $ market. Yes, there will be days when you’ll be greeted by a topsy-turvey market - that’s life.

Why not? I have no additional plan on August trading! Since, I am not a season based trader!

If you are not confident enough, then you can avoid! But personally I have no extraordinary plan on the summer trading!

confident is important , no way to deny but after having confident the result of trading can be useless , because there is nothing 100% in trading.

I trade all year round. Take a look at the charts for a period you’re interested in and cover up the date labelling. See if it reads any differently from a winter period.

The market never stands still.

Same here, I don’t see any complication! Right now I’m bullish on Gold, looking for my next buy trading area!

Are you trading XAU/USD? :open_mouth:

Hi, looks like you’re facing some troubles trading during these months. It’s actually great so far. Revise your strategy or create a new one. Avoid trading during the months you don’t feel comfortable. No point in risking if you’re fearful.

I have heard this too. Seasoned traders don’t prefer trading in summers but I have not faced any such issue.
