Turning $9.60 into $100+

As the title states, I would like to see if it is possible to turn a small amount of capital into something substantial by December 2012.
I will be starting on the 13/08/2012 with a starting capital of $10

(Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve)

Yes, it is quite possible though, of course, it will require patience. There’s also the fact that you’ll be able to trade only micro lots (and below) so progress is going to be slow.

Try trading the higher time frames and see how that goes.

thanks for the reply newnine, i also think it is possible which is why i don’t understand why so many people say you need to start trading with $1000+ starting cap.
i will be posting updates every week

Trading for 12 months for $100 is what it is it’s $100, you’d be better off with a job, but with $1000+ you have the potential to make a wage over 12 months.

yea i didn’t really want to come across over confident, i plan to make more than $100 which is why its $100+.
if this thread become more active i will explain the strategy ill be using

I believe its possible just need the right mental prep and have a dam good trading system.

I would personally scalp as you can compound more quickly.

Good luck and hope you succeed.

Cheers

How much experience do you have?

just over 2years, and only just broke even in July 2012

Good luck, Dont update daily, do a weekly Friday update only

cheers mate, & I will be doing a weekly update.

Sub’ed,

Its you against YOU, make it happen

I’ve to say this

This kind if thread baffles me. Turning … To … Keep on going like this and you’ll loose it all. I’ve been there and I’ve done that.

Your starting capital is low. What lots will you trade in ? Mini lots ?

Any way good luck it’s possible but chances of you doing it is slim

the reason why i am starting with such low capital is to prove that if you are part of that small minority which can make it as a successful trader (5%) it shouldn’t matter what account size you start with.

vice versa, if you’re part of the larger majority of traders which fail, using a larger starting capital doesn’t mean you’re going to become successful. I personally believe that you need to learn patience among other things to become successful a trader which is why it doesn’t matter what your starting capital is.

absolutely true.

Look, Forex IS a get rich quick business. Make your money as fast as you can, then lay back off it…

Your either good at it, or your not…

The 2% risk is for the early stages, not for experienced traders.

If you are good at it, and your only risking 2%, your lacking confidence in your system, as to why they place 100SL on their trades.

If your good at it, throw NO LESS then 30% risk, Make your money, and get out…

You know when the last time i risked less then 2%? Never, because it dont make cents

Yes, it is possible.

The questions are:
can you do it (do you have an edge)? will you pursue your goal until completion? will you allot ample time to achieve it? do you have enough time?
realistically, 4 months is quite a short time.
If this is just a personal challenge, then go ahead. But if this is a matter of ‘life and death’, you should trade more realistically.

Cool, I will be love to see the updates. I always find these fun. +1 on the weekly updates. I use to have a journal thread that i updated daily. UGH it was such a pain. spending 1-2 hours a day explaining and screenshot ting all my analysis and trade results.

With that amount I personally had experience it before When I started last year with 25usd. In 4 days time I blast my account to 370+++ but than boom. 2nd time was 10usd and in 1 week time jump to 130++ than boom again.

With this amount I personally just took it as gambling or a meal. but it won’t work on long run.

Ok, so this is the start of my personal challenge.

starting cap of $9.60

will be doing a weekly update every Friday, and more than happy to answer any questions.

Happy trading

Answer 1: yes i do believe i can do it, and yes i’d like to think i have an “edge” lol.
Answer 2: ill pursue my goal until i reach it or go bust.
Answer 3: ill spend as much time as possible to achieve it (considering i have a full time job).
Answer 4: i think iv given my self a realistic time frame to complete the task as long as i keep my head screwed on.
