U.K. February visible trade deficit tightened more than expected but the January reading was revised higher. The goods trade deficit narrowed to GBP7.32 bln in February, compared to 7.82 bln in January (revised from 7.74 bln) and better than our survey median for a 7.53 bln February reading. Exports rose on the month, possibly underpinned by the sterling depreciation, while imports fell m/m. The EU27 goods trade deficit widened, however, to GBP3.35 bln from 2.19 bln, while non-EU trade deficit tightened to GBP3.96, the smallest in a year, and versus 5.63 bln in January.
