The value of USD against any other currency has been increasing after the announcement of Bank of Canada deciding to keep its rate unchanged at 0.25%.
What is the reason that it has caused such as increase in value of the USD ?
What is the reason behind it ?
Thank you in advance.
It had absolutlely nothing to do with the USD move today. The BoC has been saying for months that it won’t change rates until next year.
What is the reason behind it ?
Bad US data is part of the story. Look at what stocks and bonds did following the morning economic releases.

Thank you for the reply.
Yes. Values of stocks and bonds been falling yesterday due to bad economics data.
This leads to another question which is, why do bad economics data can cause an increase in the value of USD against other currency ?
Bonds rose, not fell, yesterday. Yields feel.

In this cycle bad economic data increases risk aversion sending money into the dollar as a safe haven.
