Can anyone tell me the difference between these two forex analysts trading terms ?
" [B]SHORT AT[/B] 1.2878 FOR A 1.2772 OBJECTIVE "
" [B]SELL AT[/B] 1.5170 FOR A 1.5050 OBJECTIVE "
do they both mean the same thing ?
They both appeared in the same forex article but I don’t know why one is using the word ’ [B]short[/B] ’ yet the other says ’ [B]sell[/B] ’ . [I]I thought shorting was selling [/I]?

They probably mean the same thing. However selling could be a term used for covering a long position, however there would not be the objective after it.
You use the term Short or sell for a cross. EUR/USD, AUD/USD, etc. So short means sell.
Short EURUSD at…means sell euros buy dollars
Sell EURUSD at… means sell euros buy dollars
You can also short or sell a single currency, but Sell is a more commonly used.
Short USD is the same as Sell USD
So if I say Sell USD, that is the equivalent of saying Buy or Long EURUSD.

Yes, I have seen articles where analyst uses different words for the same thing. But it is always good to know these basic forex/investment related wordings to get the clear idea on articles.
They both mean the same thing, selling means the same as shorting.
