What does this section represent on meta trader 4 ? What does the different values mean ? I see videos explaining how to use the app but none discussing on the meaning of the values ?
I believe that is where you select your trade position size. 0.02 is 0.02 of a Lot. The blue numbers either side would increase or decrease the centre number. The centre number is how much you will buy or sell.
It means that you have to go through Babypips school and learn about trading volume and position sizing
Savage. But for real, help that user out instead of making such comments. Let’s keep this community nice and happy.
Like the above user said, it is a trade position size. You need to adjust to increase or decrease and the center one (0.2) is how much you are willing to buy or sell.
Thanks everyone . @the_halfblood_cake …only been on the site for a couple of days . Why the hell do you even post is the forums ?
this is actually the lot size in which you want to trade. + is for increasing the lot size and - is for decreasing the lot size.
I apologize if anyone felt offended.
As other users showed, it refers to lot sizing.
In the picture, you are currently selecting the option of trading with 0.02 lots, while on the sides, you can select to increase or decrease that amount.
My comment maybe was a little harsh, but I try to put this in context and explain myself better.
Let’s say that this is a poker forum, that also provides a school to learn about poker, so you will not lose your money just rushing into a game. What you are asking here is: “what does it mean that I can raise or fold?”.
My answer is: it means that you have to go through the school on the website, before you burn some money.
Again, I apologize if that sounded harsh. Just my opinion and good luck for your trading.
Those figure represent lot size, which determines the volume of your trade. It also increases and decreases your pip value.
Even I understood your context and found it funny, but at the end of the day, there might be some member who might not get sarcastic posts since messages are harder when conveyed.
Good thing you realized that it did sound harsh, so all is good.
P.S. Thanks for explaining as well.
Lot size. Do some research on how to use MT4 before you trade…
The values you mentioned are denoting the trade position size. In order to work on your trade, you need to increase or decrease the value of 0.2, mentioning how much you are going to buy or sell in the trading.
