Hi all,

When there are no economic announcements, or major news events, what and who is moving the market up or down and why?

It can be simple speculation or just supply and demand. Think everyone changing their money to go on holiday/vacation each day is essentially trading FX.

Then you have bigger businesses transferring money to buy materials and services from other countries.

Also things like companies say using the Euro buying companies that are valued in GBP which happened earlier today when a German company bought 55% of BAE land systems I think they where called.

All this requires selling one currency and buying another.
