been looking at it & I’m still lost in the dark with, someone pls enlighten me.
I don’t know how well I can explain this. But I will try…
1st column is the retracement percentage compared to the previous swing
2nd column is the count of each retracement-level occurs, within the analyzed set of swings. The total number of swings analyzed is represented by the total at the bottom.
3rd column represent the probability of each retracement percentage ending at the exact level (excluding the levels below the corresponding level).
4th column gives the probability of the swing ending within each corresponding retracement level (including the levels below the corresponding level).
At least this is how I understood the data, thanks to LiquidGenius. This is only my understanding and not necessarily the correct explanation. Hope it helps.
Here’s what i see:
Rel is interested in the area where there is an 80% probability that the swing will end. The 10% at both ends are ignored. Therefore minimum and maximum are defined at the 10% and 90% mark respectively.
The cells highlighted in green are the areas of interest. The cells in yellow are the bottom 10% and the cells in cyan the top 10%.
First group is the length of swing 2 relative to swing 1.
Second group is the length of swing 3 relative to swing 1.
Third group is the length of swing 3 that is higher than swing 1, relative to the length of swing 1.
Fourth group is the length of swing 3 relative to swing 2.
Average is where the cumulative frequency crosses the 50% mark.
Rel, according to MF wave patterns, whats the criteria for a reversal. I don’t quite understand his explanation. I think his English is machine translation from Russian or something…
Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I too am trying employ his work as more like a filter to find better trades, rather than a stand-alone strategy. Now I get the general idea, a multi-time-frame approach starting from lower tf’s. Thanks.
i cant understand anything
i have just reading this thread and even the post in the beggining about the D1 and H1 relation seems so simple that i cant understand how to take advantage of an D1 candle.
i dont know where to start if the beggining is not enough
Rel, i’m trying to follow your work about waves statistics. I got the formula for sb’s tcd short/long - omega lines , but i’m still figuring wich is the formula for sb waves. I mean, in Barros swing, it’s a matter of HH or LL…
Also, wich TF use your indicator basicsSBwaves?
And which is better for you to gather statistics beetween SBwaves and Barros swings?
Thanks
Wow Rela you are back!
I have to thank you while you are still here. Only recently did I read to the end of this thread. Even though I am still not successful yet, your work has been very inspiring to me. I have read up some of the people whom you learnt from like Barros and SB, which helped me to understand your work better. Now I am just learning by emulating some parts of your methods, focusing on the wave analysis. At the moment still trying to code W1 SB indicator using the original code you provided, but facing some problems though, lol.
Should focus more on trading, but without complete set of tools, I don’t really feel ready to trade.
Hope I can eventually become a good trader, then I can share some strategies with you, or maybe meet you in person!!
Thanks! I have learnt alot.
Ok. Sorry if i’m a pain, i don’t know if you want to keep the formula for you, but since i’m trying to recreate sbwaves outside of mt4, i’m looking for an accurate description of the rules for drawing swings.
e.g: In case of barros swings if we start from a low we draw a swing if we have an higher high and keep drawing until we have a lower low. Inside candles are ignored and for outside candles we wait until the candle following the outside candle.
Thanks
Great!I searched it a lot but you know this is a big thread and sometimes is difficult to find specifical arguments. Now i have to put on hard work!
Hi Relativity, Zuzzolo,
Can I ask you what are the differences in using SB waves instead of Barros Swings ?
Both methods need to use MTF and we can map different classes of upwaves… Well anyway, will try to do both to see it by myself
Zuccolo, I am currently trying to draw Barros Swings outside of MT4 too, may I ask what you are using ?
Hi snipip. LoL! My user name is yet ugly enough even if you don’t mispell it. And i think that Rel can explain much better differences in SBwaves and Bswings.
Regarding construction of Barros and Signal Bender, i’m trying to do this in Python Pandas. I can tell you that for making stats and calculation in excel like data structures Pandas is great (similar to R), but when it comes to plot the waves it’s really a pain! For now i’m searching a way to plot waves in the right way, but i still can’t, even if i applied the formulas in 4-5 lines of code (wich is really fast for me).
Do you have any suggestions on wich language/software use for this work?
Anyway my target is to build an indipendent platform that does all the analysis for me taking datas from mt4 in real time.
Now that i think about it is like building another mt4 from scratch! A little boring, but i don’t like mt4 too much and i don’t know if it’s gonna exists forever. Mainly Rel and SB posts gave me the inspiration for do this and i have to thank this guys. Before starting to read this thread i never considered to learn programming!!!
hehe sorry~
I am using SQL (PostgreSQL) for data processing and javascript for rendering. I choosed these two because I am already familiar with these languages, especially SQL. I also tried R but eventually did not like it…
This set up has its limits but since I won’t go below H1/H4 candles, I think I’ll be fine.
edit: just took a look at Python Pandas, looks really cool, thanks for pointing it out
I feel the same
Thanks Relativity,
Now that you say that and that I put that in relation in how they are built, it totally makes sense !
=) Just keep at it, the pieces start will slowly start to fall in place, keep reading & study what u don’t understand.
“Do the best u can until u know better & Then when u know better, u do better” - Maya Angelou
I’m learning programming too & my thought was like u to build a platform outside of mt4. For now its just a thought till my programming skills advance.
I always find something new on these forums. However, I try to keep thing simple…
You’re right about mt4, it has its use, but my thought here is that visual charting is kind of subjective analysis if taken alone. Numbers instead, never lie! (If you do the math well LOL).
What we all want is an edge, wich can be translated in higher odds of closing positive operations. So in my opinion, the absolute objective way to have an edge could be just having little infos: odds for going long and odds for going short and wich price to target. If we can resume a whole system (obviously tested, and here may come in play visual charting, in addition to frequency dists) in this parameters, wouldn’t it be objective?
I actually think that it should be possible to trade without any chart, if you’ve done your work well. Anyway chart is of course instructive (but can also be misleading) if you know how to use that. That’s my point of view, based on what i learned till now (in good part thank to you rel ). Just make the computer work, and reserve for you the decisional part.
Why you say that we can’t do this alone? (do you mean, by ourselves?)
P.S: By the way, in my first month of trading just using barros, lrc and gmmas, (plus some help from stats that i gathered by myself), i’m up of 80 pips. That wouldn’t be a lot, but it’s really a good result, compared to the ones i had before starting my real education here
Fantastic … Complex… Simple… Its fantastic…
Thanks for that Rela… Good to see you back…
And to add to the software point it’s only a means to an end… Not the end itself the approach matters more and the journey seems ending but never ending… so I’d less focus on the canvas I’d use but spend more time on the models itself…
The barros is something I’m starting to apply more seriously especially for congestions … And trying to understand more the underlying knowledge on the rules. I can see some logic. I have been playing a lot on C-C application to understand SB better and this comes in handy for the analysis.
The SL MM images have so much meaning… That’s given me some huge confidence and clarified my suspicions / acted as reiterations on how Tf swing expansion requires dynamic SL / mm strategies.
Thanks Rela … You’re modest as always and a star. Have a great day.
SIlver=)
YOu should apply TTT. It works. WA always stuck. The most thing in this topic is 1 hour volume
IMHO, u running too wide, just keep it simple. Your idea of impulse waves and 1 hour volume are the best.
