What’s the difference between Smc vs ICT

I’ve been on a YouTube rabbit whole for about a few months and I’m honestly making it worse. Can anyone explain to me the difference between ICT and SMC. I’m not sure if they’re just the same thing.

SMC is a method of trading. ICT is short for Inner Circle Trader, a person that claims to have invented SMC. ICT’s concepts and SMC are variations of the same thing, both of which are renamed or rebranded concepts that have been around for years. It’s clever marketing to make people think it’s some kind of exclusive insider knowledge.

I hope that you’re able climb out of that rabbit hole. Good luck :+1:

Does he really?! What a cheek. It’s been around, and even under that “smart money concept” name, for 100 years!! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

He’s also said that Richard Wyckoff, the true father of SMC, would have been his student :joy:

Okay, so ICT is the trader/mentor who teaches the concepts, while SMC is basically the trading method that comes from his ideas. SMC is what people use in practice but it’s all based on what ICT teaches about how big players move the market.

This is wrong. As explained just above, it’s the opposite way round.
