I’m a newbie in trading and i heard there are different types of fx traders but i don’t even know the categorie I’m in. Each time i tade after i analyzing everything with the 30mins ,1hr,4hr,1D time frame i place my trade with the 1hr time frame i wait for few minutes like 5mins to 15mins ten i take my profit i don’t hold on for too long i trade every hour of the day. So I’m a scalper or day trader ?
You’re definitely daytrading as you close all positions before the end of the business day.
It shouldn’t be important to you what you call yourself or if you change trade plans halfway through a trade to a much shorter holding period.
Some brokers don’t like traders who trade large amounts for very short periods as this makes it hard for the broker to balance the risk of you making some big wins which they had not fully balanced with other traders’ losses. These firms may call fast-trading daytraders scalpers and they may have different rules about what scalping is - but these are just for them and their clients.
When the term started back in the day a true scalper was a trader who took a position and closed it at the first tick that showed a net profit. For various reasons, nobody’s doing this any more.

Nobody said you trade once a day.
