What's the best part about being a trader? (Not related to money)

What do you like most about being a trader? Doesn’t matter whether you’re doing it part-time or full-time. And also the answer should not be related to money.

For me, I like being able to keep up with what’s going on in certain industries (those related to my trades at least lol).

Being able to advise newbies on this site to ignore social media marketing hype and to face reality instead.

Seriously, I enjoy the challenge that FX tests me to being a screaming isolator instead of spreading Covid amongst the masses.

I like (and dislike) the test of character.

I have learned a lot about my emotions thru trading that I might not have learned in other ventures.

Also, I learned that losing (some) money is part of investing. No need to get upset, just do it better.

Now if only they will listen

Interesting though right? That how in the end it all boils down to two: fear and greed. At least for me.

Apart from earning profit, trading has taught me to work in a stressful and fast-paced environment with a peaceful state of mind.

Oh why fast-paced? Do you trade M1/M5?

  1. Confidence in the future.
  2. Preservation of money.
  3. Brains always busy with business.
  4. Attention to detail.

Being able to focus on world events and actually have skin in the game whilst doing it. It makes life more interesting.

Also, trading can and should become the catalyst for self-growth in other areas of life. IMO it is self-growth and not riches that we are put on earth to achieve.

Being a successful trader puts you in a very unique position to be able to help others. Not only can you help your friends and family financially (which is also cool), you can also pass on your skills to them. Then they can use them just like you to build their true freedom.

PATIENCE, this is one of my favourite quotes
“Patience alone is worth more than an entire book of trading techniques” from Mastering Trading Psychology by Andrew Aziz and this has not only helped me to improve as a trader, it also helped me in other aspects of my life.

It’s a serious occupation in the first place, so somehow you start paying attention to every little detail, you analyze everything that’s going on, you think through all the steps ahead, it’s important. And it’s a great pleasure to see a positive result, isn’t it…?

I just finished the Stoicism book and this is exactly what it kept emphasizing!

Yes. lots to learn from the stoics, both past, and present.

Although personally, the whole taking a freezing cold shower first thing in the morning is where I draw the line.

Lol

Profit Parabolic trading strategy based on a Moving Average. The strategy is referred to as a universal one, and it is often recommended as the best Forex strategy for consistent profits. It employs the standard MT4 indicators, EMAs (exponential moving averages), and Parabolic SAR that serves as a confirmation tool.

Trading has helped me to understand myself better and be patient. There are some good habits that I have developed, like keeping track of the time and staying disciplined.

I don’t think I will ever consider myself “full time” in trading as it forms one income source for me. But overall working online from home allows me time and location freedom which I would struggle to give up now.

Working from home not having to get out of sweat pants and shave on a daily basis lol
Also been around my kids a lot more than when I was commuting

Yeah no that’s a no for me. Cold plunges? No thx.

Truly love this for everyone. Although unfortunate for those who can’t afford to work from home: people who work in hotels, restaurants, trucking, etc. If everyone started trading… how will we get our food lol
