True but if you started with £1000 @ 1/500 leverage but just traded 0.10 lots would have less chance of margin call / stop out !!!
You would, but 30/1 leverage is plenty enough for 0.1 lots on a £1000 account. And the temptation will always be there to go big when you think you know what you’re doing.
I suppose it is a happy medium for a beginner., ( 0.05 - 0.10 lots ) IS what I recommend
I suppose you could say the minimum requirement for trading is a strategy.
You can - and probably should - even with a cent account and trade cents. Newbies don’t really trade for profit, they trade to learn how to learn to trade.
Different brokers will have minimum deposits but I would say a couple hundred minimum
Best to alway use a broker with no or low min deposit requirements. I started off with just $50 with coinexx to test the waters before putting serious money in forex. Low deposits are also helpful in testing a strategy or a new platform.
Being a beginner, start with as low as you get. I have started with $20 (fxview) - offers $5 minimum.
