What's your response to "So you're a gambler?"

I’d have guessed “stock exchange” from your username. But they’re all about probability and statistics and risk-management, aren’t they? So kind of similar? (Maybe professional poker, too, from what I’ve heard?).

You can trade horse racing on sports betting exchanges you use charting, technical analysis and sentiment analysis…its called pre race trading …it’s lot of volatility at the start of the race you Will need professional scalping techniques and lots of experience on horse racing :racehorse:

I like this explanation. It’s not abstract. People can grasp what it takes to run a restaurant I think better than any “trading” profession.

And trading is a business - people sometimes need telling it’s not a game.

You get same price movement of the odds of the horses as any other financial instruments, you got a chart and can apply like trends, support and resistance indicators and predict where the prices are going all in a very short time scalping

You really need to take that approach. Go all in, as they say, and treat the situation with respect and attention you would give any job.

The “odds”. Haha I was thinking of something completely different , like horse characteristics or track day environment. That couldn’t be it, could it?

Oh my goodness my brain…

The odds or prices are the probabilities of the horses to win the race set by the bookmakers once the market open they move and close to the start of the race lots of money come in and create volatility thats when the short term traders try to make some money
