Where can I get up to speed on the major economies and their relationships?

Hi, I’m wondering if there is a resource I can use to learn about the major economies and how they function.
I’m not talking about Bloomberg or Market watch but someplace that goes in depth about each individual economy and what they are dependent on/what their relationships are with other economies. As a newbie, it seems like this kind of information is taken for granted and is used as common knowledge. For example, the fact that Aussie dollar closely follows gold prices is assumed common knowledge, but where does one learn that?

Basically, from where do you get your economics knowledge?
