I want to trade dow30 futures contract but i am not sure if other contracts are more profitable? Can someone compare dow30 with other contracts sp100 and nasdaq and dax30?
All markets are profitable its the trader ability to read the charts that makes the money
When you compared these 4? Which one is more profitable? I think dow 30 look the best amongs them?
Depends what you looking at , all have moves but none are more profitable than the other
The daily ATR20 of all 3 are virtually identical in % terms, so one os not vastly more/less volatile than the others.
Many traders say the Nasdaq leads and the others follow, so e.g. at a reversal point, the Nasdaq turns slightly earlier. In practice if you put the 3 charts side by side a guess as to which is which will not be reliable.
The Dow might be more convenient for your trading platform as it has a larger numerical value.
The Nasdaq might be slightly more expensive to trade if your broker is one of those which charges a wider spread for it (but not much).
Long-term it can happen that there are significant differences in performance between the indices as the Nasdaq is a tech firms’ index. So over 1 week, the 3 indices are all up about the same %: but over 1 year, the Dow is down 9%, the S&P is down 2% and the Nasdaq is up 13%. Not much help for short-term trading though…
Thank you. It was very useful.
All are good but i prefer dow30 future contracts for making good profit.
