Which Forex platform would you recommend?

Forexinlimited, Jason has not cleared some of the questions we discussed … but you are a winner in the category bootlicker .

That you want to act as useful monkey for FXCM I will not deny you.

 • I guess your agenda on baypips is to gather members to your web page and any future sponsorship from FXCM.

The statement that you are happy with 2.3 pips spread on EUR / USD … that’s a ridiculous assertion that proves you are playing with small money

interactive Brokers got 5269 new traders with an account of over 10K in 2013 .

FXCM got 280 more clients in 2013 pluss 690 from Alpari …

Can be one of the reasons being that the IB takes 0.4 in commission plus 0.1 to 02 pips in spread.

Trading style that you like to teach away find a S / D zone and place a purchase order does not work in the long term …
Boris shlossberg performance ressult from his last 4 years proving it .

And you speak about many years experience if it worked as you describe then would you traded with STANDARD LOT today and confidence to show the trade in real time not later. my dear friend …

Depends on what kinda trader you are. Do you want smart phone compatibility? Are spreads a huge deal to you? Customer support? what kinda leverage are you looking for? Are you a math guy like me? Are you in to all those fancy bogus indicators?

My choice is Alpari if you have grands to lose before you get good. If you don’t have g’s at your disposal, the next best choice is Oanda for reasons posted in my “What to stay away from as a new or experienced trader.”

Oanda has a minimum of $1 deposit to open an account. You can not beat that. Plus you can trade literally 1 unit or .0001 lots i think.

Sorry to bump this up guys but recently, is MT4 still the best platform to use or are there new ones that I should already try for this year?

Every trader needs a good platform and a comfortable ad easy to use platform. There different platform used by different traders but Mt4 is the most popular ad easy to use.

Help! I am brand new to this site, and newbie in FOREX. I have been trading with IB for the past 13 years with multiple accounts. They don’t expect newbies, don’t hand hold and extremely tough to deal with until you are acclimated to their platform. I have always used 3rd party charting since theirs leaves a lot to be desired. I use them mainly since I trade in excess of 300 round trips per year and happy with pricing + execution equities and futures. Now I have no clue to Forex. I need to learn and it looks like quite a learning curve. I can handle charts, and probably strategy down the road, but its the trading platform and the Forex 101 trading I need help with. I started a practice account with one firm (not IB) and find myself lost (pricing PIPs , calculator?, etc…) and their help files, video’s, are incomplete and now have learned that a more comprehensive education can be purchased for X or 3X dollars. Is that standard? I am not necessarily looking for a free ride, but I guess are most platforms the same for Forex. charting is usually the same, and all brokerages must offer their own platforms and 3rd party charting. Any help would be most appreciated.

Which Forex platform would you recommend? The answer to that question is what do you want your platform to do for you? At the moment I am trading with ironfx and I am using 2 of the platforms they are offering because they have different features and offer different products with each platform. The mt4 which is probably among the most popular in the world. It has a user friendly interface, you can use your own indicators and expert advisors and it allows you access to the basic tools of trading. Im also using the multi asset platform because I can trade on thousands of different instruments, (shares bonds indices etc) It also has a friendly user interface and some customisable features that make trading easier. Both of them are available in a demo version so that traders can try them first. From what you are saying I am guessing you are totally new to trading so I personally would suggest the mt4 platform for you. It is very popular in the market and you can find a lot of information about it through these forums. The best thing however would be to test some platforms, see what is important to you and then make your choice.

You can’t go wrong with learning MT4! The rest will just be easyer from there!

It is right way of doing forex trading to start with demo .After demo when they are enough expert in money management live trading is recommended. I use mostly Mt4 on demo and live trading it is my favorite trading platform.

Definitely FXCM, good execution, great spreads, great TSII platform, unfortunate it doesn’t run on Mac though.

ctrader is the 1 i like the best. Try a few different platforms and see what u like.

Hi Gaiatrader,

There are a number of ways you can run Trading Station on your Mac:

[ol]
[li]Instead of Trading Station Desktop, use Trading Station Web: https://tsweb.fxcorporate.com/
[/li][li]Use a Windows virtualization program like Parallels to run Trading Station Desktop: http://www.parallels.com/
[/li][li]Run Trading Station Desktop using a Virtual Private Server (VPS): bit.ly/1kN0WDo
[/li][/ol]

The third option is especially good if you want to automate trading strategies on Trading Station Desktop, since you can keep the platform running 24 hours a day instead the VPS, even if your own computer is turned off or disconnected from the internet.
