I was in a “Share club” at the time and was actively forecasting the same thing against our “Chairman” !
Sadly I have lost touch with him and he has migrated to the other side of the world having had a BIG Windfall !
I have absolutely no doubt whatever that he will have “Invested the lot” in Bitcoin - at or very near the top !

Your wife’s opinion was a valid expression of her good sense (and maybe acalling it “Intuition” is rather dismissive ? ) - sometimes we get too close to the problem and “Can’t see the wood for the trees”
Sometimes we need to seek the opinion of outsiders and perhaps even listen when they are given.
This thread may contain some posts which demonstrate a similar caution perhaps ?
