Looking through the newbie threads, I can see I am not even at this level yet. I guess I am a bebe newbie. I have a Mac with intel, and only have a wireless connection as of now. We live out in the country so this is our only option. Does anyone trade on wireless? Any suggestions?
I trade fulltime off a wireless connection. No problems. Running Intel Based 54G stuff on the laptop and a linksys router down in the basement…
There really isn’t that much data coming and going to the computer so throughput and capacity really aren’t problems. Typical action requires maybe 5k/s of bandwidth when my charts and trading platform are up and running.
Just make sure its a consistent connection ahead of time that doesn’t give you problems.
I am also a newbie. I am using wireless at home and using my PDAphone with GPRS while I am on the road. With my style of trading, the two approaches seem adequate.
With my habit of always putting in limit order together with target profit and stop loss leve, the trades seem to be going on quite well.
I also run wireless when on the road and as a backup. Never had any problems
