Zulu Trader - I'm a new signal provider

Ha ha give it time hero

no matter how many betty boo you start as long as you don’t start trading by yourself you will always end up in a losses like you have in zulu. nobody in this market is just giving any signals and making people to become millionaires. you do that by learning the game and earn the $$$ s yourself. my humble advice to you.

Im currently learning how to handle Zulu Trader - to give the signals 100% autonomy is clearly wrong (see recent averaging into a position and losing 900 pips of top trader).

It’s not zulutrade…it’s your strategy.

The top signal provider there uses no stops and just averages in… see his current position (-1100 pips)? That’s not a strategy, just a time bomb waiting to happen. i read a lot of follower comments and many are getting margin calls already. hold and pray is not a strategy.

remember that the market can go against you longer than you can remain liquid.

good luck.

After the recent disasterous draw down on ZTs to traders, whereby they averaged into a trade without any stop losses (and lost over 900 pips) I’ve decided to implement the following - which is working so far - albeit one day but it’s the concept I’m in favour of:

  1. To implement my own stop losses
  2. To close any attempt to average into a trade - I did the sums and I would have lost 100 not 900 pips
  3. To reduce certain traders number of trades per currency
  4. To close a trade if in profit if I’m happy with the amount - all too often $50 becomes -$50

Any more thoughts are appreciated.

Hello,
I am signal provider on ZuluTrade.
I´m from Germany and made good experiences on german boards, where people have the chance to talk about SPs side of the trade and my strategy.
If this posting is regarded as spam, or is against any other board rule, I want to apologize and ask the mod-team kindly to delete it!

I tried to be a signal provider - but - I now spend my time on actually managing my Zulu signals.

So… Let me get this straight. The title of this thread says you are a new signal provider, but in truth, the signal you were now providing, was a signal originating from someone else?

hahaha thats a great scam.

Master Tang - please allow me to help you get this straight…

I was trying my hand at being a signal provider - whilst also having my own Zulu account. But I’m now involved in manually managing my Zulu signals that I’ve no time to send my own signals.

Hope that’s clear Master Tang - nice try though

I don’t really get it, so you get commission buy providing signal from Zulu Trader via live followers?

Ive been on Zulu receiving signals for some time - leaving the trades alone and letting them do what they do - however I soon learnt that I could make more money by managing the trades myself - ie once the signal had been received then Id manage it to my own style.

In the mean time I’d also tried to generate my own signals - this was not apart from my incoming signals.

However, I’m not any good as a provider and my incoming signals need more management so I’ve decided to drop being a provider and stick to managing my incoming signals.

Thanks for the reply, I mean for the signal provider, they are not providing their signal for FREE, ain’t they? Are they getting some commissions or something?

Yes - within Zulu - of the usual 2/3 pips commission the provider will receive 0.5 pips for every follower who takes up the signal.

Is there an API interface into ZuluTrader which the SP can use to post signals? I was reading about this idea, and didn’t immediately see anything. I’d consider tying my trading system in as a Signal Provider, if there were some API I could just use to post my signals. Thanks ! HyperScalper. P.S. Another thing in reading about this was that my trade target distances are typically 2-5 pips since my brokerage gives me credit on the ECN. But most Zulu consumers would be getting a lot more slippage than I get, so that’s another potential issue. I guess if the SP assumed market orders were being used, it would be more realistic…

You can link your signals to meta trader / not sure if that helps.

I can try and answer my own question after some research. If I use some Zulu affiliated brokerage with MetaTrader, then (since I’ve done it before) I could write an EA that listens to a socket, and receives/executes trade requests from my main system. Those would automatically be posted through (through the backend Zulu API) to the brokerage account, and hence to the ZuluTrade system. That’s my understanding so far… So, only with some programming “magic” do we really have some sort of auto-posting API with ZuluTrader. Doable… but by no means easy for most non-programmers. Correct me if my basic thinking here is not right. HyperScalper

Yes, I didn’t see your post. That’s exactly what I figured out, and I would “remote control” MetaTrader through a couple of EA’s which implement a socket listener, and a socket writer for bi-directional communication. Thanks muchly for the suggestion, seems that’s about the only option there is… HyperScalper

Betty boo, how is trading today? still holding up?

Hi Eddy,

Since Thurs: + $208 + $33 - $111 + $123 + $166 = $419 @ $1.8 per pip.
Hopefully you’ll have seen my strategy on the other post - I’ve tied things down on Zulu so here’s hoping

How you doing?
