Curious question? Why would scalping strategies (or for that matter any other kind of strategies) be defined or classified according to the timeframe of the charts from which they’re traded?
Surely 1-minute charts would be far too slow for scalping, anyway?
All the scalpers I’ve ever seen or known - and to be honest, that’s quite a lot! - use fast range-bars or fast volume-bars (or very occasionally fast tick-charts used as an approximation of volume-bars).
Just make sure the time of day makes sense to your strategy. If you are after volatile markets, make sure you can trade when the markets overlap.
Not here!
In this forum, “scalping” has a very different (and far looser and much more variable) range of meanings from almost anywhere else in the trading world, @Franca_Bridge . Usually, here, it just means “fairly quick intraday trades”, and nothing more specific than that. Not what anyone from your background is used to, I know, but “it is what it is,” as they say.
There are even some conversations here about “scalping 5-minute charts”!!
