2,764 users online, and only 3% of them are members?

I guess people are a bit shy nowadays.

So many lurkers!

Thanks for pointing that out Clint! Ask the tech guys to check it out, but no word yet. Hopefully it’s legit, and that it means our knowledge will continue to expand as the community grows

Its possible that some just look at the forums but only sign in if they want to comment

Hello Clint,

Thanks for the message. While the proportions you point out are a bit out of the normal breakdown of guests versus members, they’re not unheard of. The greater majority of our user base is outside of the United States, with large portions active in the Europe, parts of Africa and South East Asia. So that fact that there were that many active sessions at that time of day in your neck of the woods is that crazy. Midnight, ET, is the start of the day in Europe and lunch time in most of East Asia, where we have a sizeable audience.

Also, regarding the Who’s Online stats, they’re not real-time. Showing real-time stats would put too much load on our servers for just showing that stat. So the stats refresh every couple minutes. The other thing to keep in mind is that these stats are session-based, and a session can stay active even after several minutes of inactivity from a user. Finally, it’s not a surprise to us that the majority of our readers are guests. That’s a historic trend, one that you’ve noticed yourself. Granted, your example is out of the norm, but we’re well aware of the “lurking” community that simply chooses to read and not engage with the rest of the community.

Thanks for pointing that out! Happy trading!

I guess this simply means that people are lazy to log in.
They simply want to read the posts without posting.
