2012, year in a review

Just closed my last position in 2012…

And now, let’s have a little chat…

I’d like to hear your opinion about year behind us. How was your trading so far? Was this year a total disappointment, or a year to remember? Profitable, or a year which you will remember only by loses, and nothing else? Year in which you learned something new, or maybe (unfortunately), year in which you realized that financial markets are not for you?

Or maybe there is something else?

In my opinion, this year was exciting when we speak about trading. And years in front of us, are certainly even more exciting.

And yes, I wish you happy and prosperous New Year. I wish you to collect more pips than you did in 2013.

Happy trading.

Nice idea bro. For me, from an FX perspective, 2012 will be remembered as the year I fell the hardest, but learnt by far the most. Much of what I’ve learnt actually came from a deeper understanding of myself and of my intentions for trading in the first place. God has revealed some awesome things in my life and I am extremely excited for the new year

Overall, I’ve ended 2012 profitably, but far FAR from where I could’ve been had I had the right mindset from the get go. ICT has contributed immensely to where I am as a trader, laying the foundations for how I trade today. For that, I am incredibly grateful. Chris Lori has also helped me simplify what was once a very complicated view of FX. There are also a number of members of this forum who have in some way or another contributed to my development - akeakamai, SanJ, tycoon83, SimonTemplar, shaunfx and sladhaFX (if I forgot anyone please forgive me, I’ll add the instant it comes to mind again ;)).

So yeah, here’s to another year of success!

Sweet, 2012 was my graduation year, it’s the later part of the year that it all started to come together. I’m now trading consistent and profitably, I’m learned that I have to overcome myself and that a simple holistic overview with a predetermined bull/range/bear of price action before the market open is the way for me, ICT opened my eyes and made me look inside myself. Looking forward to 2013 which will be my proving grounds in this game. Wishing you all an happy new year and a pipin good 2013.

2012 was kind of a slow year…i guess! The intraday movement was pretty slow for the whole year and specially winter season was hardest for me.

Looks like you came here to spam, right?
