A guide to teaching threads on babypips as of Oct 2013

Hello, I am Jackmarkets and I thought that I would provide you with a guide to teaching threads in a hope that as newbies you will avoid the scammers and snake oil salesmen that frequent this forum.

I have been banned from Chris Capre’s thread after just asking him why he has not provided a trading record - note that I was not banned by babypips as my questions were wholly within the guidelines and spirits of the forum. It appears as if he just does not want to provide people with the opportunity to do due diligence on him.

As a side note, I am retiring from babypips forum because I realised that I am being driven to post by ‘pet hates’ of scammers and frauds (to dpip, its not attention seeking - I thought about it, and its just annoyance thats making me post which is not a good reason for me to be here).

As my last parting gift/scandal I will provide a table of teaching threads that I am aware of (there may be more but posts are limited to a certain amount of words per post, and I don’t want to post anymore).

I would also warn people not to use teachers who have no trading record. Due diligence is a word that is used frequently - if the teacher does not provide a trading record they are blocking you from due diligence. Imagine a company approaches you to invest in them. They block you from seeing their financial records - that should ring alarm bells no matter how much free stuff they throw at you. But again, the choice is yours. Just remember - learning the WRONG thing is much worse than staying out altogether.

Also, a warning against ‘free teaching’ offered by vendors. If a company gives freebies - it is always to entice you to buy the full product. The freebies are never going to provide you with a satisfying result, otherwise what is the point of the full product? Equally use your common sense here in trading. If you can make as much money as you want through a freebie teaching service, why would you buy the teaching service? Its obvious that the free service does not work otherwise that would be very poor marketing.

So use your [B]common sense[/B] when you are choosing a teacher. Ask yourself, why aren’t they offering a trade record? Why does a vendor like Chris Capre block people from his thread when people ask for one? The answer is that they don’t offer a trading record because they don’t have one and should not be teaching. If you follow them, you are likely to lose money.

In case you think I am ‘sour grapes’ or doing this because ‘I am underwater’ or ‘lost my shirt’ or ‘am not profitable’ I have already shown my verified trading record (not screenshots or excel charts which are easily faked in 2-3 minutes) to some of the senior members here such as SimonTemplar, Master Tang, ILovePizzaMore.

I realise that most people here dislike how I post. But think of this. How many of you would be still trading ICT’s losing methods if he had not blown up after showing his trading record through myfxbook (and guess who pressured ICT to show one? Yep - it was me among others who demanded it). Whether you like it or not, my annoying posts have saved a lot of people a lot of money and time. Many of you would probably be waiting for the next 12 days of Forexmas if I hadn’t started gathering support for him to show a myfxbook back in 2012.

As I said, I have been posting here lately because I have been annoyed at various snake oil salesmen, but if they can ban me off their thread like Chris Capre, there’s very little I can do.

So, I will be retiring from posting here (hurray from all the second hand car salesmen)

Please keep this thread bumped so that new traders get a good overview of the teachers on offer.

I would like to add (to newbies) that in your due diligence search for the O/P’s nick online,
search name scam. Send them an email, ask them to supply verifiable account details etc.

You may get a better response with a private email than on an open forum.

Take a look at how much of a contribution each of these so called experts make
to Babypips forums. (ie Chris Capre has only ever posted in his thread)

Also take a look at who subscribes to their thread, are their a few cheerleaders.
Generally the O/P will be the ‘good’ cop & will not confront a nuisance poster but leave
this to a lieutenant who is the ‘bad’ cop.

Oh Jack, if only you spent more time on your own development. The grail doesn’t exist other than within your consistent self. Good luck in your travels hopefully the cynicism dies down as you mature and you can relent on your endless pursuit of “proof”

Seriously who would pay 1000-2000$ for learning forex when ALL necessary information to become a succesful and rich trader is on the internet free on sites like BP, FF and others.Better keep that 1k$ and you can start already with a 1k$ mini account.

Thank you very much, this is a very useful summary.

Those teaching threads used to make me very nervous cos it made me think there is just TOO MUCH to learn and there seems to be so many GURUs it only confused me.

I never posted in this forum cos just browsing through and reading all those interesting threads already taken up too much of my time. I appreciate your effort and this is a great gift, it is such a time-saver.
