Hi everybody,
I found the following while browsing Wikipedia:
‘From 1994-2000, Wales served as research director at Chicago Options Associates, a futures and options trader in Chicago. By “betting on interest rate and foreign-currency fluctuations” he had soon earned enough to “support himself and his wife for the rest of their lives”, according to Daniel Pink of Wired Magazine.’
Jimmy Wales is, as some of us should know, the founder of Wikipedia. This citation sounds to me like he made his fortune by forex trading? Does anybody have further information on this? He started in 1994, so it was obviously only possible over his employment at Chicago Options Associates.
For me, this sounds like a real life example of somebody who really managed to be very successful by forex trading.
