In ADX indicator lesson, mentioned that ADX is mainly used for measuring the strength of trend.

But I read somewhere we can also use it for the trend direction using +DI and -DI lines.
Highly appreciate if anybody can shed some light on it with example if it’s possible.

The idea in watered form is if the ADX line is over 20 there is a strong trend starting and the +D & -D are showing the direction depending on which is on top. I find using the histogram a little better to read rather than the mad lines

On many brokers you can change the +d & -D to a histogram looks cleaner
