Aidy Sproule's Mathematical High Probability EA

Hi Everyone,

I have been working on an EA for a few months now and it’s finally starting to come together. I have been testing it on live accounts for a few months and tweaking it here and there to improve the results. I have it to a point now where I am happy to show the results to the public on live accounts. The MyFXBook accounts below show the results of the EA starting this week. Obviously this is the 1st week and the results so far are nothing to go by, but please stick around for the next 2-3weeks at least to keep an eye on the results, and if my accounts have blown up by then, I might drop a copy of the EA on this thread!

Update - 25 May 2015

I have had a few requests about how my EA works, so I will explain the main concept of the EA but I will not being giving away the exact parameters the EA uses to open trades. So here goes…

The EA is a short term trend EA, so trades are open for a maximum of 24 hours. Starting with the current bar of the 1 minute chart, the EA counts back 1440 M1 bars (24 hours), for each bar, it will look to see if the close is above or below the open of that bar, if the close is above the open it indicates a long candle, the EA then works out the distance between the open and close and records the result to a variable. If the close is below the open, this indicates a short candle and the EA again works out the distance between the open and close and adds it to a second variable. It continues this for the total 1440 M1 bars to get the total amount of buying and selling for the previous 24hours are any point in time during the day. If there is more buying than selling, this will indicate the currency pairs is going long, if there is more selling than buying that means the currency pair is going short.

Once the trend is identified, I have an custom trend strength indicator that has been modified for this EA to determine the strength of the trend, once the trend strength passes a certain threshold, the EA will enter a trade in the direction of the trend with a default stoploss of ATR (daily - 14). As the EA continually monitors the trend, if there is a reversal in the trend, the EA will close the trade. If the trend remains in place, the EA will close the trade after 24 hours and the above process is repeated.

The details above give an overview of the main concept behind the EA, it does not cover the in depth working of the EA as I have been working of this EA for quite some time and I’m not up for giving it away… just yet.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Aidy

Hi Aidy,

Congrats on launching the EA, well done! What is the basic idea of the EA?
In any case, looks interesting, I am curious to see how this will develop further.

Great start! Thanks for sharing Aidy.

+3087.8 pips this week!

Hi Pinter - I’ll update the thread tomorrow with the basic details around how the EA works. Going to have a beer now!

The results this week have been very good! Your “best trade (£)” is much higher then your “worst trade (£)” which is a very good sign. The winning % is a little less then 50% but the risk reward is there which is important.

Is this EA based on your trend strength indicator?

Hi anc200,

Yes, the EA includes my trend strength indicator which has been modified for this EA. I am just typing up an high level overview of the EAs working and will post it here shortly.

My EA currently has 8 trades open on all 3 accounts. At time of writing all account in floating profit.

Currrent positions on all accounts are:

AUDUSD: SHORT
EURJPY: SHORT
EURUSD: SHORT
GBPJPY: SHORT
GBPUSD: SHORT
NZDUSD: SHORT
USDCAD: LONG
USDJPY: LONG

Showing promising results so far

Do you mind sharing what kind of strategy you are running on your EA? …just out of curiosity.

Details added to the 1st post on the thread.

Like the basics of it.

Other than leverage, is there any other difference between the three accounts?

3 different brokers, same EA and settings. I have noticed quite a difference in prices and the times the trades open for the same currency pair across the 3 brokers.

With the holidays in UK, US and Euro yesterday everything was quiet for my EA but today is a different story!

Up over 25% for the day looking very good for today. How much of your account are you risking per trade?

Up over 25% for today. Impressive!

How much are you risking per trade?

The EA is configured for 2% but as my account size the risk is slightly higher. Over time as the account grows thsi will level out. It’s payday tomorrow for my 9-5 so I may add more funds so the risk will be 2% per trade.

As the ea looks like it is broker dependent you might want to try more brokers. Activetrades are pretty good and like ETX offer a spreadbetting account.

After an excellent day yesterday for the EA, we are heading into the US market open with a number of trades open and with strong profits. With no major news releases today for the USD, the EA should continue to perform well.

Anyone internested in testing the EA for me as well? Live or demo. I will work with you to setup the EA on your Metatrader terminal via Teamviewer to make sure everything is working ok.
