Has anyone ever used algorithmic trading software and where would you get it ? I assume the answer is no as it is extremely expensive but does MT5 not incorporate this into it ?
In the simplest term any trading system by definition should be an algorithm, if it can’t be simplified into a simple flow chart of “yes” and “no” decision processes then it simply isn’t a trading system and involves a discretionary element. So yes, mt4 and mt5 allow algorithms of sorts, but these should not be confused with institutional algorithms which differ tremendously.

It’s possible on retail brokerages platforms however you’d make an inquiry about special account with super-tight spreads and permission for algorithmic trading. There is VIP account on Hotforex for purposes of HF trading, however min amount to start with is 40 K. The same high amounts with other brokers I guess ( prime brokerages require even more - over 100K or more).
HFT is very profitable, but trading setup is quite expensive.
