Any good resources (preferably books) on how the Forex market works as a whole? What I’m looking for is an in-depth explanation of this market - how it operates, who are the participants etc. No strategies, no incentive to beat the market, just pure refined nerdy stuff. Anything like that?

agree , so many online trading books are available on there but remember one thing , only bookish knowledge cant bring the good result until having practice a lot. so besides this it is more appropriate to focus on practice session , otherwise the result of trading can be useless.

school is very important there is no way to ignore but this school should finish minimum 2-3 times , otherwise this knowledge can be useless.
I agree with you. I often read books more than once, and discover more content or understand what I did not understand first time around. I think practice with real trading needs to be done as soon as possible whilst studying - that is the fastest way to learn what is important
