Like Phil, I do both.

Discretionary with my candlestick trading but I also use a mechanical system (with discretions !! :smiley: :smiley: :stuck_out_tongue: )

I think ForexNinja meant automated systems as in Expert Advisors…robots…is that what you mean by mechanical?

I am discretionary, but I’m working on developing a mechanical system which is taking most of my focus right now.

I used to trade completely discretionary but now mechanical only (robots). My life is less stressful now :slight_smile:

A bit of both. I have an idea of what set ups I’m looking for to trade. However, I need to see the large picture before I enter the market.

I guess I’m a mechanical trader who uses discretion.
