Hello traders.
Which time period do you think represents the market best for reliable backtesting results? I usually start backtesting (EURUSD) from the beginning of 2020 and things start off well but as soon as the corona outbreak happens I start losing big time. Trends keep reversing and the market is choppy. I was wondering if my methods are no good or maybe there is something else to it.
Hi, the longer time back test period the better because your strategy “see” more different market behavior.
.IMO FX. trading is hard work nowadays as Western economies are being affected by inflation resulting from corona plus the Ukrainian war. Even my pro friend finds it tough to find consistency in these market conditions.
As for EUR/USD aim to follow the news more closely.
