You could use a traditional broker and either buy the index through an ETF (DJI) or through the futures market (/YM). I use TastyWorks as my broker which are the people that built ToS (Think or Swim) that is now owned by TDA. There are a handful of very low cost brokers. Depending on your location, you should be able to do an internet search for brokers that work in your area and what they charge for fees and commissions. The cost involved won’t really be from holding but rather commissions paid and spread.
I used to Spreadbet the DOW futures with Cantor Index (Long Gone Now I think) - but they did not charge for overnight holds etc - A bet was a bet - until “Expiry DAy” then there was a Rollover charge - check out SPreadbetting. It is effectively the same as what you do through a “Broker” and the spreads were bigger, but once “In” yyou were “IN”.
