What matters most is just to make sure that your account is regulated in France by an EU broker. It’s not about where “the broker” is regulated. Many have different companies under different regulators. It’s about where your account is regulated. Any account offering more than 1:30 leverage is not EU-regulated and you should avoid it. As long as you get that right, you’ve already avoided about 98% of the serious problems that can arise.
What matters least is anyone else’s personal opinions and personal preferences over which are the best brokers. For example, I like Oanda. It’s available in France; it has a range of different trading platforms for customers (some are very good); they’re honest people; in my opinion it’s hard to do better; some people will agree with me and others will disagree - this isn’t important: it’s just one personal opinion. Others are also available!

Interactive Brokers, and IG, and Oanda are popular and respected.
It may also be good to use one licenced by AMF (Autorité Des Marchés Financiers), the official French financial regulator. Its website is below
