Best Trading Plataform

I am new to Forex and have been practising in a demo account java based on Forex.com.
I would like to hear your opinion in what are the best platforms to day trading?
Is Java based platforms good for it?
Where can I find a platform were I can setup an alarm as soon as the technical analysis tool line up as wished

Thank you.

I used Forex.com for a while but ended up jumping ship and using MetaTrader. It’s free to download and many brokerages support it. I opened an account with IBFX.

I’ve also heard Dealbook is good, and GFX supplies it for their accounts.

I used NinjaTrader and had LOTS of problems. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I use metatrader for my charting software and then fx solution’s software for entering trades.

Thank You for your help!

Only trade with an ECN broker.

THERE IS NO FIXED SPREAD IN FOREX.

NEVER LOSE AGAIN!!

Try Oanda Platform . You can change the leverage . Oanda provide 20:1, 30:1 , 40 :1 & 50:1 leverage . You can open a/c with low deposit . But Oanda is a market market maker broker and not a ECN . If you looking for tight spread ,then you can look for ECN broker . Most of the ecn broker provide high leverage. So , you need to decide which broker suite to you.

Poco,

Would you mind telling us a little bit about your problems with Ninja? I am using it free right now and would like to know limitations. Thanks.

I had very frequent problems where it would lock up, pop-up an error and lock up, or crash entirely. I worked with the NT tech support people (who were excellent BTW) but ultimately I gave up. I don’t think it was the program, per se, but the setup I was running.

Part of the problem was that my setup was a lot more advanced than most folks. NT did not install all the required files in the c:\program files\NT folder - it stored some of them in \my documents. Well, the My Documents folder on my computer is mapped to an “offline files” network drive. (That allows me to disconnect from the server and all files care copied, then updated when I re-connect, or synchronize from multiple computers) Apparently the .NET system NT used couldn’t handle that. After working with NT support for a few weeks I discovered this was a problem they’d had for years, and knew about it, but were unable or unwilling to change their application to install all program files in the program files directory. If you just do a standard install, you’ll probably be fine.

Personally, I am glad I found MT because it is SO much more powerful for what I want to do - I am looking for a way to program a system to make trades for me, and MT is far more powerful and simple at the same time. I’ve never looked back.

In fact, at some times I am running 11 versions of MT at the same time on different accounts for testing purposes. See my profile/homepage for more info.

Mmm. Thanks. I definitely don’t have this need to install on network drive so I think I am fine.
