Blog username and password

Why does my username and password not work for log in on the blogs?

It may be that you are putting wrong username or password or someone hacked your login details and changed.

Mine don’t work, either - I can’t comment on the blogs under my SimonTemplar name, so tend not to.

Greetings All,

We use a comments platform called Disqus within the Blogs sections. Disqus is one of the more popular comments platforms out there, used by the likes of CNN, Time, Fox News and Engadget. Unfortunately, Disqus does not directly integrate with our Forums software. What this means is that two separate logins are needed - one for the Forums and one for the Blogs section.

The Disqus login is a universal login that works with any website using Disqus as its comments platform. You can currently use your existing Google, Twitter, Facebook, Yahoo or OpenID accounts to register for a Disqus account.

While not ideal - a single account to do everything on BabyPips.com would be best - we really the look and feel of the Disqus comments platform and the features it provides the commenter. We’re definitely going to take a deeper look at what integration options we have.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Wise words from the Oracle! Seriously, thank you for getting back to this, I have wondered about the blog system. I get the reasoning behind it, I do, but unfortunately I don’t have an anonymous ID I could use for commenting on blogs, and when I tried it prompted me for name, email etc, so I didn’t have anything I felt that I could put there.

So thank you for the response, and I understand the reasoning, but as it stands I can’t comment on the blogs, although I am an avid reader. But that’s fine, it’s cool to be a lurker rather than a rambler for a change!

Thank you for the response.

When commenting blogs you can just pick any name you want by clicking on ‘Post as’, after you’ve finished typing your comment; for instance, you can post as ‘SimonTemplar’ and just add your regular email (or any email, for that matter).

That’s easier than signing up with Disqus, especially if you’re only commenting blogs occasionally.
