Is Obama the devil, with devil horns? An unedited unphotoshopped photo of US President Barack Obama making a speech has gone viral and sparked Illuminati rumors, the secret society bent on a new world order (NWO). Obama addressed the nation from the Cross Hall of the White House about his plans for military action against the Islamic State, the militant group also known as ISIS. In a photo taken during his speech, a set of “devil horns” can be seen on top of Obama’s head, due to the design of a curtain behind him. Wow, is Obama really the devil? Well I will let you do the “devil horns” photo analysis, but what I thought I would do is an analysis of the Obama presidency as of today and what lies ahead for his final two years. With right-wing, nonsense stories like this, it just shows the vial dislike they have for Obama. But from the left-wing it’s not much better. The words the left-wing often uses is, great disappointment. Many had voted for “hope and change,” but now feel that Obama simply just has not delivered on his promises.
In Obama’s initial campaign, he said that it would not be business as usual in Washington D.C. Lobbyist, special interests and money in politics was bad then, but since then it has only gotten worse. Obama said he would get us out of the wars in the Middle East, but just recently with the ISIS situation, it appears this position has also fallen by the way side. The economy? Well things have gotten better for some, but wealth inequality is worse today than when Obama took office. Obama’s signature issue, Obamacare, was not socialized healthcare as believed, rather healthcare insurance reform, that may eventually get repealed anyway, when the opposition comes back to power – as they have vowed. Granted many of Obama’s supporters would say that Obama has been blocked by the opposition to get anything done, but nevertheless this is a president’s to manage and the disappointment remains.
In the last years of the Bush presidency, it felt like Bush was lost. It was if he was surprised by his own policies and how much damage he had done. It was if Bush could not wait until his presidency was over, to escape the historical shame his name would receive for causing so many problems in America. I am feeling deja vu. Events are beginning to overwhelm Obama. Foreign policy and the geopolitical situation for Obama makes us feel the world is falling apart. Right now the economy is not great, but not falling apart. What if events in the economy start falling apart too? After all we are ending soon the current business cycle, and storm clouds are forming.
I think Obama realizes that he will not be able to do any great things in the time remaining he has. Right now his strategy is, “do no harm” and finish his presidency with an America in reasonable shape. His biggest accomplishment that history will remember him for is being the first black president. Obama wants to be that black president that did no worse than the white ones. The question is, will the events allow it. Obama will agree often with the opposition, in an effort to appease and survive until his presidency is over.
My take is that Obama does not really understand what the effects of the macro economic polices that he passively has signed off on, will have on the economy. This is not a sole critique of Obama, because frankly I don’t believe many of our leaders understand it and Obama really has not been the author of these policies in the first place. Those that do, are too caught up in the system and would not stand up for change, as they too are bought into the current status quo. My prediction is that Obama may face the same situation that Bush faced. Please let me leave office before it all goes down. The issue will be one of timing of the events that Obama has little control over.
For the economy and markets we trade, this means that status quo continues until it doesn’t, but for sure events are soon ready to eclipse this status quo. On a final note, when the next White House speech occurs, let’s see if Obama looses the “devil horns” …
