After looking into what this feature is, which basically means that others can edit your own posts - when would this perhaps be beneficial?
Would this not expose the OP to having there posts bastardised?
I’ve made this a Wiki post, just for an example
Nope, very difficult to edit another member’s post - the power of discourse, reason: it’s quite simple.
(Edit not by RiskOnFx, but by another member, note the wrong capitalization)
That’s an interesting way to think about that feature, but definitely not how the developers who created the platform would describe what it does or it’s purpose.
Making a post a wiki post gives access to anybody to make edits to the information, like you said. It would mainly be used in reference topics/posts, but really not meant for discussion threads. It’s a collaboration feature, more so than a something that’s meant to take anything way from the original author. Think Wikipedia type information, so fact-based. Those types of threads make the most sense. The changes are tracked, and they can be reverted if needed.
Hopefully that sheds more light on wiki posts. Thanks!

Thanks @peterma, it appears we can log who made changes to, haha.
And thanks @Pipstradamus for the detailed answer
