Brute change in direction on many currency pairs- why is that?

I’ve noticed that on friday, many currency pairs have made a brute change in direction. I was wondering why is that? I thought that maybe since it was friday and probably had low trading volume, a couple of big trades on a news report may have caused this. But I’m a newbie, and want to know why, and how this happens. Thanks a lot. (by the way I was looking at the H4 and Daily charts).

Dollar started getting crushed again off Bernake’s comments…

Nah. Bernanke’s stuff was already out there from Thursday (did you see how beat up he looked after it was all over, though?). There was another bad data release in the morning and talk that the deal to bail out Ambak was stumbling helped trigger some selling so the stock market crapped out again, and Treasury yields took another nose dive.

^^ Ahhh good call. Yes he did look a bit beat! lol… deserves it IMHO.

Just took a look at the T-yields and you’re right on the money. That was probably the true cause.

I gotta admit, i don’t get too caught up in the fundamentals anymore… I just trade lines on a chart.

Well a lot of it had to due with the sell off on friday, risk aversion came back to the playing field, and people also locked in their profits.

I think Fridays are strange days anyway. You never know when something might go haywire. Trading is always like Friday the 13th in Forex.

Fridays are very unpredictable. This is a good day to trade if you want to lose all the profit you made during the rest of the week.

I agree, happened to me last Friday. A lesson well learn. Don’t trade on Fridays especially in the afternoon. (Intra-day traders)

okay, friday was oneday, but it really started on the tuesday for alot of the majors.
