I got advice for doing that on MT4 but I don’t see an option for that on MT5…

Yes, you can “partial” close your positions in MT5
Select the trade that you want to partial close. Right click and select Close (see the pic below)
Once you select “Close” it will give you a pop up window (see second image below).
Enter the volume that you want to close. So if you opened 1 lot and you want to close only 0.50 lots, you enter 0.50 in volume and hit close. By doing this you will end up closing 0.50 of the total position of 1.00 lots only.

I think you should keep using MT4, any feature or reason you have to use MT5?

What reasons would anyone use mt5 over mt4?
So you should stick with Mt4 which is more popular and easier to use.
