Hey there! I’m in my first month of learning to trade. I’m curious if somebody could point me in the direction of learning more about how to measure candle wicks and what benefit that would provide to somebody. I remember reading that it could indicate if bulls or bears were winning. Thanks for the help.
called tails by some traders or separation. the body of a candle is the bit that is filled out. the wick is the tail. if the tail is longer than the body it tells you that one side pushed price back, thats it. you cant isolate anything in trading, you have to read it in context with what is happening around it.
a long tail on a candle wont tell you anything if its in the middle of a consolidating market, if you see one off a visit to a previous extreme in price it tells you traders are active there and a possible reversal or bounce may occur.
