windows 10 or windows 11, two or three terminals are ok, but then more i add the more lagging i get,
page faults, handles, etc,
what to do?
1 terminal is using only 1% of CPU
why can’t I run many mt4 instances?
How did you install each terminal? How many ram do you have?

windows 11
i am running 13 MT4s and cpu usage is max 10% and only 8 GB is used
all mt4s are with /portable command line
everything is working, but lag is horrific for no apparent reason, no too many handles, no page faults
win 11 is completely unresponsive
no IO to disk

yes, 100%, and I really love /portable key
works like charm, but MT4 terminals are reeeally slowing everything down
in each terminal i have from 10 to 30 windows/charts
is MT5 better ? true x64?
can I run ~30 MT5s ?
where is that bottleneck in MT4s ?
it is not CPU, not RAM, not DISK IO… so why win 10 or win11 are unresponsive, and MT4s are not updating charts?

Maybe it could be the way MT4 is coded or something
I am using only MT4 , each terminal with max 10 strategies because of low sending channels, MT5 has same numbers. Minimize all charts and don’t install indicators on charts, you don’t need it. Is MT5 better in this case? I don’t think so. Remember that meta terminal’s has been created for windows, if you want to use it on Linux , you have to use other software like wine, but it will be unstable.
really looks like it culprit is MT4, but they are all separated and with /portable key
cpu usage is very low for each mt4, 1% cpu max,
14 MT4 terminals
each mt4 has from 10 to 30 charts with expert adviser in each chart
by chart is mean H4 window eg GBPJPY h4 window
there are 0 indicators on each h4 window chart
pure chart window + expert
so about 300 experts in total on 14 MT4s

even if win10 multi user is used
