Help please. I downloaded and installed MT4 from ThinkForex with a demo account from them.
I bought and installed Million Dollar Pips in that MT4 folder. It did not trade at all, because the ping rate is so awful.
I have opened a demo account with Alpari UK (much better ping) and want to change from ThinkForex to Alpari UK in the same MT4 (MDP is tied to that account, I think), but when I go to tools/options/server and enter the Alpari details, all that happens is that the connection is lost.
The MT4 help notes are no help at all! so I am asking you!
You need to download Alpari’s own mt4 platform. Each broker has their own mt4 platform so you can’t download mt4 from one broker and use it with another broker.
Thank you for that. When I downloaded Million Dollar Pips, I had to give an MT4 account number. When I have tried to load MDP onto a different MT4 (in fact, the Alpari UK one), it comes up with an error and the original account number. How do I load MDP onto the Alpari MT4 account?
I don’t want to exclude you, but what I want to exclude is what every other trader worth his salt on this forum wants to exclude is junk, scams and rip offs, and to be honest it sounds like you have been very much duped, and the best advice I can give is to drop it, engage in forum discussions where we will be glad to help, but keep away from the get rich quick stuff.
I have no idea if MDP will work on another account. When you download mt4 from a broker it comes with the .srv file for that broker. To use 1 installation of mt4 on multiple brokers is no problem just put .srv file from another broker in the config file in your mt4 installation. Do a google search for broker .srv files you will find plenty. Or open an account with the broker and download mt4 and copy paste the .srv file from one mt4 instance to another. This is what I do if I want to test out a demo with a different broker. Its easier to copy paste one .srv file then all my custom indicators and templates. You do need an current account at the broker to get the price feed.
