is there an option or a software, where i can “replay” the chart.
lets say, i wanna see how the chart build up on the 1. april 2011 and then let it show me the daily candles or 30 min candles or what ever candles, until a given day, or until today. don’t know how to explain it right. like in a movie.

F12 will allow you to move the bars to the left one at a time.
Strategy tester can also do what you want. Its normally used to back test EAs(robots) but it can be used to manually test indicators or just to see the price action.
Mt4 can do this with the strat tester. I think you need to have an EA loaded to get it to run. find a ea that does not trade to load, like a stoploss EA.
Tradeinterceptor has a nice strat tester also.
the mt4 free simulators are OK. but have a lot of limitations. I personally use Forex Tester 2. It is much more flexibility and powerful platform and its interface is much like MT4 itself. It is fairly pricey but I feel i got my worth out of it as the data is up datable it wont get out of date

forex tester 2 seems exactly what i need, but 199,- USD is -wow.
i tried the mt4, but maybe i am just to stupid to get it run the way i need. if i get it run with “backtesting” it is running so fast that i hardly see anything.
the F12 option is nice, maybe i should have read the manual

Strategy tester can be slowed and stopped. Be sure to run it in “visual” mode to stop it. If you choose “every tick” mode, the bars are formed very slowly if your broker / currency pair has sufficient ticks. F12 is good too; but be sure to try everything and then decide.
