I am still getting something malicious downloaded thats blocked by AVG when I try and enter the chatroom.
Its still there = its an invinsible IFrame app.
Hello JackMarkets,
Thanks for the feedback. Please make sure you are running the most update to version of Java. It’s necessary to have this software installed to enter and use the chat room. The software is provided for free. If you want to verify what version you are running, go here (Java website). The website will tell you if there is a more recent version. The people behind Java have come under some criticism lately and in the past because the Java software has been found to include many vulnerabilities that are being exploited by hackers. They recently release new versions/updates to fix these issues. It’s very possible that AVG is actively blocking Java, following the trend of Apple Safari browser and Mozillla Firefox browser (they’ve disabled Java by default, giving you the option to turn it back on, I believe).
Also, we’re currently dealing with a totally separate security issue on the website, which we’ve discussed in this forum post. We believe that one of our advertisers (or rather their ad server) is unknowingly compromised and potentially sending us infected ads. We’ve narrowed down the list quite a bit, as well as continued to scan our servers and hardware for anything malware/virus related. Those scans have all been clean. We’re working with that list of advertisers on identifying the root cause and hope to have some news to share very soon.
Again, we apologize for this happening.

I am getting this avg alert fairly often. I’m updating java now to see if that helps.
Hey TalonD,
The “Invisible IFrame injection” is not so much an issue with the forums or Java specifically, but with some of our 3rd party advertisements. We’re covering the issue hereand here. You can help us by taking a screenshot of the page you are on when you get alerted.
It’s been very difficult to pin this down to a specific advertiser, but we’re certain that’s where the problem lies. Iframes are used in displaying advertisements, and our investigation is pointing to a compromised 3rd party ad server. We working with all of our advertisers to identify the source. We do apologize for this and hope to get this resolved very soon.
Thanks,
Pipstradamus
