Constraints of EA

Hi

I am new to EAs but I am looking to get a developer to write me a custom EA

However I am not familiar with any constraints of EAs and MT4 so before I write a comprehensive functional spec of what I need can someone please tell me if an EA can do the following;

  1. Monitor several markets concurrently
  2. Can monitor these markets using 15 and 30 minute timeframes
  3. Can identify trends by measuring and comparing prices of immediate previous candles

There are some more such as opening and closing trades but I assume an EA can do this already.

As long as you have a set of mechanical rules, it can be done.

Yep EAs can do this, you just need to specify your technical indicators and system rules.

I don’t want to sound pessimistic but 95% of automated trading systems end up failing; either losing a bunch or just barely staying alive. It is estimated that 95% or more of the automated trading system will turn out to be unprofitable over time.

Going to have to agree with Rambo on this one, the ones that do make money, you will like never find, and there’s a high chance your idea has already been coded and tryd, just google it, see what pops up

I wouldn’t say that it would be 95% but at least 80% yes…
