In mt4 I understand you cannot place SL after the current price but does anyone know of a way to stop the order before price goes against you? I know there is trailing stop but setting it up closes my order really fast and all I want is to just make 200 pips.
I’m not sure what you’re asking.
If you’re wondering how to exit the trade once it’s gone 200 pips in the direction you expect, that’s called a “Take Profit”.
A stop loss is if it goes in the direction you don’t expect.

There are order management tools available on the market select market tab on mt4/mt5 or visit mql5 site .
Your question, is there a way to stop the order before price goes against you. Can you explain what you mean by that? When an order opens it automatically starts out negative due to the spread.
