Hi, I’ve got several instances of metatrader installed with different brokers (Alpari, Broco, IBFX). When I try and start them up I get an error that says ‘authorization failed service not available’ on all of them. Is forex still closed because of new years? Do they delete demo accounts every new year?

I have an IBFX demo and it seems to be working ok, and I opened it last year …so I’m not sure why yours aren’t working. 
You probably just need to open a new account, simple procedure in MT4
Are any of you all using MT5? I was able to get MT4 with Alpari working.
Right know, each broker only allow to make demo account through the website.
Making demo account from metatrader is not allowed. In liteforex, we must make demo account from our cabinet.
Some brokers institute a time cap on demo accounts…that is you would not be able to use the same say after six months or an year. The time cap varies from one to the other. But if you had just downloaded and installed it, it should work. Either way, call up the broker or their Customer service and let them know about the issue…
