Do I have to stay connected on MT5?

On mt5, when I placed an order with a slop lost and a take profit, do my computer and the MT5 software have to remain connected to the internet to execute on the take profit is affected ?

with MT5, you don’t need to stay connected for a take-profit order or a fixed stop-loss order to work, but you do for a trailing stop-loss to work

You send trading commands from your platform and brokers handle the rest. Their servers calculate floating P/L, margin, swaps, etc. and this data is sent into terminal. The job is done on their servers and if you want to stay up do date regarding your trade you may occassionally check your trading terminal for updates
